ABOUT BRENDAN TIERNEY

My work is dream-inspired and emotion based. I try to fuse narrative images into an amalgamation of graffiti and the surreal. The human form inspires me, in that it is a tool for emotional expression. I have focused on trying to portray sincere joy and love without falling into a cheesy hallmark greeting card trap. I have got to say that it has been a real challenge. My goal is to express the existence of these true emotions in the context of a harsh and often tragic reality. The world is a hard place filled with incalculable sadness, but it is the love within us, and the expression of it, that makes this life beautiful. (How’s that for a hallmark card sentiment?)
